here it goes again.

oh well. today’s the last night before sch starts. i’m actually quite excited about gg to school again. although lectures and projects are here once again, but i think the fun of attending and doing them together with my gang is pretty anticipating. it feels like a long time since we had sat together in an LT, NOT listening to what the lecturer is talking, eating sweets, chatting, giggling, gosisping about what other people are wearing and so on and so forth. it’s also been a long time since we cracked out heads together and brainstormed for project ideas, rather than brainstorming what to eat or where to go. everything seems to be quite looking forward to and yup, of coz i can start peeping at my eye candies once again.

this semester will be much more different than the past 2 semesters. coz, i will be working at my sis’s office throughout the semester, until late september if i’m not wrong, which means i have to juggle between projects, tests and work. at the sound of it, it might seems crazy. but i’m sure i’m able to cope. work-wise is able to fill up my pockets. projects and tests are just a matter of time management and of coz productive studying. u can spend the whole day studying, but u aint productive. u can also spend a few hours studying, but u are productive. so yup. as time is lesser next semester, i will definitely have to use time in a quality manner.

as for shopping, it has already stopped. like for Zara. the last piece was actually a jockey cap? yup. from Zara. i had a $10 Marina Square voucher to use, and apparently wj asked me to spend at their food court, which i protest loudly. it HAS TO BE spent at Zara and i’m glad i did.

apart from shopping, there were other expenses too. but they shall slowly unfold. =) this leaves me with things to blog abt at random.

so much expenses. although i’m working, i still cant spend without blinking. my love for Zara has caused me a big hole in my pocket but u know, i’m not complaining. i’m actually enjoying every moment of it. i even have the intention to travel to Spain just to go Zara. that’s how crazy i get but i think it will definitely be a dream come true. i really duno who else can be as crazy as me over Zara. and i really dun care whether u label me as a crazy, impulsive shopper, particularly at Zara, coz love is irrational. ha!

oh god. i just bathed and now i’m sweating again. izit me or the weather? urgh.

so yup. it’s almost 2am. and i’m having a morning class tmr. more entries on shopping and food to come along in this blog. =)

the long awaited Zara sales had came. nobody is excited about Zara having sales because everyone’s not impressed by its discounts.

if u study economics, u will know what’s the law of demand. it simply states that when the price of a certain good decreases, the quantitiy demanded for that good increases, ceteris paribus. if ur demand for that good is very elastic, the slope of ur demand curve will be very gentle. so, for a small % decrease in the price of that good, the % increase in the quantity demanded of that good will be greater.

Zara, to me, is super price elastic.

1st up…t-shirts!

i had a “to buy” list for Zara and t-shirts are 1 of my top priorities. i want to buy everything there la, but i cant possibly do that. so, i feel that i need t-shirts more since sch is starting soon and i dun have a nice array of t-shirts.

“why must buy from Zara? other places sell nice t-shirts too.”

i really duno. probably because i’m Zaraboy. ha!

when i tried the black tee on, the size was right, the feel was good, the look was great and it goes with almost every bottom. i dun even need to hesitate.

again, another tee that goes well with every bottom that i have. i’m seriously lacking white tops, and i mean casual ones, not those G2000 formal ones. i have 3 of that and i think i’m starting to find it ugly. of coz they are the “uniform” for office wear, but i believe even if u are working in an office and ur job scope doesnt require u leave ur desk and meet new people or potential clients or whoever, u can dress up too.

i believe that dressing up will make me feel confident about myself and my mood will be good for the day.

another white top. i think i can actually wear this to work. if ur office allows, u can wear them even on mondays-thursdays. surely friday. just go with a black bottom, or brown, depending on ur belt and shoes.

a bright top from Pull and Bear. i’m always ok with wearing bright tops as it gives people a more “energetic” feeling. the flash of my camera made the tee look bright red but actually, it’s not as bright as u think it is. it’s somewhere between maroon and blood red.

ok. back to Zara. bermudas now…

white berms. i’ve been aiming this since i saw it way before the sale. it was selling at $60 before sales and i was already tempted. when i saw my size at the sale, and selling for $39.90, again just like the black tee, i bought it without hesitation. ed actually bought this before the sale, but i dun care. it’s too nice, it’s white, it’s Zara and i just dun wear it on the same day as him.

dark blue linen casual berms. possibly going this with my birks. now i have a white and a dark plain berms. and i have a check berms that i bought not so long ago from Zara too. =) these 3 shld give me no problem in matching all the clothes in my wardrobe.

next, bag.

a tote bag that i saw. it was so cheap! probably because it’s nylon. but i dun care. i will be hitting the gym quite often and this serves as a very nice gym bag. its big enough to put 2 shoe bags. and gym bags need not be leather. i saw a couple of nice tote bags at Ballys’ and Agnes B but they are really expensive. so when i saw this at Zara at such an affordable price, once again, i nv hesitate.

then,

a brown belt. i have a black one, and now brown one. the white one is still pending. i actually saw it at Zara before the sale. it was under their new collection but seriously i dun mind paying for it. however, when i asked the staff, he said it was sold out. hmm. maybe it wasnt. they just dun wan to sell that during sales. shrugs. no idea. he asked me to go back again next week. but! hmm. i shall see.

i like the buckle. nice and simple.

that’s all for Zara. this is really crazy. i really duno why i like Zara so much. the feeling is really difficult for me to put into words. i’m already thinking of going to Spain. i want to go to the Zara over there. =) and probably next time when i strike Toto or something, i can travel to all the Zaras in the world. haha!

couple of weeks ago,

i was thinking about getting loafers, those ah pek shoes that’s so trendy now. it’s actually quite stylish and it makes u look proper and tidy, even though u dun wear socks with it. u do look rich. u do look like a man. i noticed even Tay Ping Hui is sporting that look in his 9pm show now. but, i changed my mind and got myself a pair of sneekers instead. we call that sneekers do we? i duno. anyway, this pair of Pedro casual sports shoes stands out due to its red design at the sides. and i realised it can go with jeans, light brown casual pants, light/dark berms. it’s not that difficult to match actually. it gives a “boyish” image and as for loafers, it gives a “playboy” image. but well, whether a person is a playboy or not, u dun look at his shoes. besides, another reason for not getting loafers, i have one from Kickers already and it’s still alive and Kicking. ha!

and lastly,

Burberry was having sales and this long wallet came at a nice discount which makes it affordable to me.

it doesnt come with a coin compartment but it’s not necessary because i will be heavily utilising the Braun Buffel coin pouch that the gang had gotten for me for my birthday. =) i like this long wallet and i can carry it by hand, although it’s not encouraging, or put it in my bag. i wldnt be able to put it in my back pocket, so i dun have to run the risk of sitting on it. if i were to sit on it, i wld definitely cry!

ok. this is such a long entry. i’m gonna go for dinner now, before coming back to hide my loot so that my mum wldnt see it. ha!

busy.

i have been very busy these few days. Mango sales started last week and i went down to Mango Men to take a look. how disappointing i was. they have a miserable small section on the 2nd floor of the Shaw’s outlet specifically for men’s. the problem lies not with the size, but the quality of the clothings. none really caught my eyes and the prices are not cheaper than any other competitors either. so i might as well save up for my Zara.

So Zara sale started on thursday. and boy was i busy. i visited the Zara Taka with my colleagues, then Vivo’s after work. today, i went to Liat during lunch, Marina and Vivo again after work. no intentions to go Great World’s.

i bought a number of things. stuffs from Zara and also some purchases before Zara and Mango sales. shall post everything up at one go.

so yup. stay tuned.

tmr’s fel’s birthday party at her place and if i were her, i wld be very excited about it. it’s such a special day and so, the gang’s gonna make it even more special for her.

i’m like forever changing i realise. from the way i wear, to the way i style my hair. i dun seem to have a fixed style, a fixed identity, a fixed personality. o_0

pretty bad. but let’s see what may evolve. it has to settle down rite?

looks forward to work. ha! the people there are crazy. and it makes u want to go back and live in the crazy environment. furthermore, tmr their bosses are not around. i think i can expect the office to become a market tmr. ha!

a trip to town.

i got this at Paragon Banana Republic at a ripped off price after a 50% discount. it was a store-wide 40% if i’m not wrong, yes! store-wide!, and if u are an UOB cardholder, u get additional 10% more. this is just a dark blue polo tee, nothing special about the design or wad. i bought it because it’s good for casual days, easy to match my clothes and it suits my style nowadays.

actually, i dun think i have a fixed style. i’m pretty random and would love to try out different styles every now and then. sometimes i like the t-shirt-berms-birks, sometimes i prefer the shirt-jeans-birks, sometimes i love my jacket-plain tee-berms-birks/shoes. sometimes i carry a sling bag. sometimes i carry a tote. nowadays i carry my backpack. it’s nice to wear a pair of shades with some styles. and i know there’s no sun, it’s not glaring, but it’s for the style.

the tubey thing is actually a shower and hair gel from Zara. Zara is not my first place that i had wantd to get a shower gel from. i was at Taka and i went into Bodyshop and theirs are selling for $19.90. i thot it was abit too expensive, so i walked to Far East’s Skinfood to see theirs, and theirs are selling for $30. -_- as it was almost time to go home, i am lazy to walk back to Taka. so i ended up at Zara Liat Towers and got theirs for just $16.90. the convenience is a plus plus point, as i’m planning to hit the gym at my workplace. i dun even know what they use to make the gel. like Bodyshop, i know they have a refreshing one, a lemony one, a “manly” one and one more which i forgot. just like Skinfood, they use organic fruits or vegetables to make their gel. but Zara, erm, nothing was mentioned. the smell is nice actually and it reminds me of the “air” in Zara. u know there’s this smell in the store when u stepped into a Zara. i call that an evil smell. because when u smelt the air in Zara, u lose urself and start trying clothes. and it will also make ur body secrete a certain hormone, that u will bear to part with ur money. when u stepped out of the store, u will realise u had spent alot but it’s already too late.

ok. that’s a phenomenon la. only i experience that.

anyway, tmr’s back to work. i suddenly realise how important weekends are. but, it’s just a matter of time that i feel this way. afterall, i’m like only 3 sems away from stepping into the workforce. how fast it seems. i cant wait to start working full time actually. the thought of earning my own keep and being able to mix with the professionals out there motivates me. it just excites me. but then, i’m afraid i cant find a job that aligns my thought and beliefs. i’m worried that i wld be unhappy at my job. but haiya, i shld worry abt it at a later date. for now, it’s working as a temp staff and i’m looking forward to my pay day, and…

a pair of bermudas that i’ve been yearning for. i had actually wanted to buy a plain white. but who knows my fren had the same taste as me, and bought it b4 i did. hmm!

every company is going GREEN and Zara is too. i noticed this label at one corner of the store and it sends out an eco-warning to the people out there. SAVE THE EARTH!! sea level is rising and some countries will have to evacuate some of their people to higher grounds or worse still, the whole country will be submerged in sea water. climates are changing. look at the weather nowadays. it gets so bloody hot that one can melt. and remember the terrible experience by China? it snows in spring! wtf. all of these weather changes are affecting the crops and therefore the supply and therefore the price of our commodities. serious consequences!

updates!

couple of big events have happened.

firstly, i’m employed! ha! today was my first day of work and nope, it’s not at Zara again. this time round, i managed to grab a temp staff position at a governement body to do some accounting stuffs in their Finance department. ok, i know i dun like accounting. that’s why i took up marketing. but i’ve got to be flexible ma. furthermore, i’m starting school on the 7th july, which is like in 1 month’s time. it’s so damn difficult to find a job when u can only commit 1 month.

the interview was done on monday morning. the previous night was chiwei’s 21st birthday party at downtown and it was a pity, i cant stay over. so, in the interview, they just told me abt my job scope and asked me about my Microsoft Excel capabilities. so i answered and everything just took 10mins. i learnt from my sis that there was another guy going for the interview. becoz i said i could start work immediately, i was accepted almost immediately before lunch time.

i was late on my first day. ha! the HR person called me when i was still on the bus. but ha! i think people working there are the most friendliest people around. nobody said anything when i was late. even my sis was like, “haiya nvm one la!”

how can? i was awarded the Certificate of Commendation by SPF for maintaining the highest discipline and consistency in work throughout my NS stint leh.

so yup. the morning was spent sitting at my desk, staring into spaces because i do not have a computer to work on, since the IT people have not come to set it up. when they finally came, it was almost lunch. it was quite a nice set, even nicer than my supervisor’s coz my monitor is a flat screen and my keyboard is brand new. ha! but, i do not have internet access. =(

so lunch was at Far East. becoz my office is at Newton, which is so damn near town. just nice for a town kid like me. we had Carls’ Junior for lunch and after that, it was me, the only guy with 6 other girls, i mean WOMAN, accompanying them for shopping. it’s nice to work near town la. u can shop during ur lunch break. they went into BYSI like women that never shopped before, and started grabbing pieces from the racks and trying them out in the fitting room. then, they went to Man Jia Le to buy drinks back to the office to drink. then, we WALKED back to our office.

quite a long lunch break ah?

after lunch, it’s time to start work! ha! i stared at the screen for most of the afternoon, except for couple of toilet breaks and refilling of my tumbler. occasionally, my sis would come over and talked to me. sometimes i would go over and talked to my supervisor. all that, in my first day of work. oh well, it’s a wonderful environment to work in and i’m expecting lots of fun.

i heard they go karaoke. wahaha.

so i left at about 6.20, walking back to town. i went to *ahem* shop to try my shoes and it really fits me perfectly la. oh man, shoes shoes, wait for me alright. then i walked to Cineleisure to have my dinner, remembering that chiwei had told me their “char siew” rice at the food court has appeared on the “qiang tan” show before. so yup, it was not bad, one of the better “char siew” rice i’ve ever tried in my life. definitely be back for it again.

then i had a craving for McFlurry. so i took a bus to bukit merah and bought the ice-cream, and walked home with that. =) now, that’s what i call a good end to a good day.

seondly, today’s also the release of results. fel told me abt it via sms but in the morning i had no bloody computer to check it. and in the afternoon, i realised i had no internet access. urgh. so being the impatient me, i went to ask my sis to help me check my results. and i was damn pissed when my prices and markets didnt manage to get a HD. urgh. the most important thing was i cleared everything. phew.

but i really feel for the rest of the gang. i really hope u guy can manage to appeal successfully coz i want us to remain as a project group. it’s difficult to find such a nice group and i cant bear to see it disbanding this way. sigh..

Made of Honour

hmm. my last show was “PS I Love You” and that was on Valentines’ day. so it’s been 3 months since i caught another movie. i was given the priviledge to choose what i want to watch today, because it’s gonna be a treat from my buddy. quite a number of choices to choose from, we have narnia, sex and the city sneaks, chocolate, some ulu show call angel and indiana jones. ironman wasnt even showing anymore.

i’m really not very into magical stuffs, sneaks are more expensive, chocolate like quite lame, angel’s cast like very horrible, and ha! indiana jones is a nono la. so i chose made of honour.

i like romantic comedies. it makes u laugh. it makes u tear. just like life.

prior to the show, we had our lunch at this placed called “Terra”. i think they have another branch at Bugis if i nv remember wrongly. anyway, the food was so-so, not something that wows me, but also not something which u will curse and swear nv to go back again. we had their set meals, which consist of a main dish, soup and dessert. depending on your choice of main dish, the price ranges from $9.90 to $16.90.

it wasnt a very long movie. approximately 100mins. somehow, i feel that the advertisments were longer. ha! ok. that’s an exaggeration. but seriously, their advertisments were way too long. it was a relief when the show started. it’s quite a predictably nice show. hmm, i wld rate it at around 7.5/10. PS I Love You is at 9/10.

somehow, i like the way the people in the show behaves. u nv find that in Asia. u nv find people kissing on the streets. u nv find people hugging each other in public. i don’t how to say but it just makes u feel closer to the people around u.

i think i’m too serious la. that’s why.

so after the show, we went for coffee at Pacific. sat there and talked for like an hour plus before heading home. it was a really nice day. good show, good food, good coffee, good weather and of course, the best company. =)

and oh dear oh dear, i was just talking abt my stuffs throughout the coffee session and didnt asked about u! how selfish can i get. if u think u still need to fa xie, u know what to do.

yuan yang at work.

sleepless due to the glass of iced yuan yang i had just now. i’ve just finished reading “PS I Love You” and indeed, it was a good novel to grab. the movie’s better though. it was a book on letting go of somebody that had left you and finding the courage to live once again. i think there couldnt be a better time to read this book, especially at this moment in my life.

oh dear. i really dun wish to put up an emo entry. somehow, there are too many thoughts swimming in my mind, from the book, from tv, from everything. all these things are making it difficult for me, to breathe. i looked at couples on the streets and realised their sweetness was actually my poison. i hated it when people told me about their bf/gf. of coz i wld love to lend a listening ear, and for people to share their joy or woes with me. but this time round, i guess i have to be selfish to survive.

ok. stop. time to sleep. i’m glad i’m meeting my buddy tmr.
